Petrochemical solvent A-120/150
Technical Specifications 2415-004-64123846-2013
In the industrial process of alkylation of benzene with olefins, a by-product is formed, on the basis of which a technology has been developed for the production of petrochemical A-120/150 solvent.
The solvent is a mixture of ethylbenzene and isomeric xylols with a small admixture of isoparaffins and can be used instead of Petrochemical solvent A-130/150 (GOST 10214).
Petrochemical solvent is produced according to Technical Specifications 2415-004-64123846-2013 and has the following characteristics:
Indicator |
Rule |
1. Appearance and color |
Colorless or slightly yellow transparent liquid |
2. Density at 20°С, g/cm³, not less |
0,85 |
3. Fractional composition: -the temperature of the start of distillation, ° С, not lower - 90% distils at temperature, ° С, not higher |
120 150 |
4. Xylol volatility , not more than |
1,20 |
5. Mass fraction of sulfur, %, not more than |
0,01 |
The solvent has a low sulfur content - no more than 0.01%, although its real value is usually not higher than 0.002%. This is at least 10 times less than required by GOST 10214 “Petroleum solvent. Technical conditions”.
The presence of a small amount of isoparaffins somewhat reduces the density (from 0.85 g / cm ³) and xylol volatility (mainly from 0.7 to 0.85) compared with the solvent according to GOST, but this does not impair its quality.
The presence of isoparaffins does not affect the dissolving ability of the solvent; moreover, some dilution of aromatics with isoparaffins leads to an overall decrease the toxicity of the product.
