Cyclohexene dicarboxylate plasticizer based on the piperylene fraction and DRBA

A one-pot method has been developed for producing a plasticizer by reacting the piperylene fraction with maleic anhydride and then with alcohols of the DRBA fraction.

The piperylene fraction is a by-product of the production of isoprene by “Sintez-Kauchuk” OJSC, Sterlitamak (TU 2411-022-73776139-2010) with at least 85% piperylene content.

Piperylene fraction is used without pretreatment.

The alcohol fraction containing a mixture of 2-ethylhexanol and ethylhexenols is recovered from DRBA by the method of fractional distillation.
