DOTP plasticizer based on polyethylene terephthalate production waste and 2-ethylhexanol production waste

Next products was used as a raw material for the synthesis of plasticizer:

• a terephthalic technical water-flooded acid (TTWFA) - a large-tonnage waste product from the production of polyethylene terephthalate (PETP) by “POLIEF” JSC (TU 2477-077-39989731-2007);

• heavy product of rectification of 2-ethylhexanol (HPRD) - waste of production of 2-ethylhexanol by “Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat” LLC (TU 2421-120-05766575-2005).

Water is removed from TTWFA by azeotropic drying, and an alcohol fraction enriched in 2-ethylhexanol is separated from (HPRD) by fractional distillation.

High-quality DOTP plasticizer is obtained.
