Norbornenecarboxylate plasticizer based on C5 fraction isolated from liquid pyrolysis products
A technology has been developed for the production of a plasticizer based on the LPP C5 fraction.
At the first stage, fumaric acid diesters are obtained with 2-ethylhexanol or alcohol fractions isolated from DRBA or HPRD.
At the second stage, fumaric acid diesters are reacted with cyclopentadiene contained in the C5 fraction. The CPD content in the C5 fraction ranges from 4-5 to 20-25%, depending on the composition of the feedstock and the conditions of pyrolysis. The remaining components of the fraction play the role of inert diluents.
The reaction takes place selectively with the formation of dialkylnorbornene-2,3-dicarboxylates with a yield of 98-99.9%.
The process is carried out under mild conditions, without using a catalyst, the product is easily separated from the reaction mass and can be used as a plasticizer without additional purification methods.
Next products are used as a raw material:
- C5 Fraction in СТО 05766575-136-2007 without prior treatment;
- commodity fumaric acid on TU 2431-001-48426412-99;
- commodity 2-ethylhexanol (GOST 26624) or alcohol fractions, allocated from DRBA or HPRD.
