Organic sulfonic acids

Organic sulfonic acids RSO₃H (where R is an aliphatic or aromatic radical) are widely used as detergents and degreasing agents, blowing agents, lubricant additives, catalysts in acid hydrolysis of fats and oils and in the preparation of phenol-aldehyde resins and in other industries.

ХThe well-known “Petrov’s contact” is a technical mixture of petroleum sulfonic acids. “Petrov’s contact” is obtained on the basis of kerosene-gasoil fractions containing from 20 to 40% of aromatic hydrocarbons.

We have developed a technology for the production of organic alkyl sulfuric acids RОSO3H based on the fraction of alpha-olefins C20-C26, which is formed as a by-product during the thermal catalytic oligomerization of ethylene.

The resulting sulfonic acids have a molecular weight of at least 300, dissolve well in water and, by their properties and purpose, are a close analogue of the “Petrov’s contact”.

At the “Innovation Center “Chemteq” LLC (www.chemteq.ru) production of sulphonic acids (Technical Specifications 2471-005-55841212-2005) is organized on order, under the developed technology.

In terms of its physico-chemical and operational parameters, the product complies with the requirements and standards specified in Table 1.
