INTEGRATED PROCESSING OF BOTTOM RESIDUES OF BUTYL ALCOHOLS DISTILLATION
Bottom residues of butyl alcohols distillation (KORBS, TU RUS 2421-101-05766575-2001, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat LLC) and bottom residues of butyl alcohols production (TU RUS 38.10717-77, Angarsk Petrochemistry Company JSC) are multi-tonnage by-products of butyl alcohol production by oxosynthesis. It is a clear, light yellow liquid with a density of 840-880 kg / m3 and temperature limits of distillation from 120 to 330 ° C.
KORBS has a variable composition and contains a complex mixture of alcohols (mainly C7-C8), ethers and esters, acetals and other impurities, while the mass fraction of C8 alcohols can reach 65%, and the proportion of 2-ethylhexanol - 50%. In addition to saturated alcohols, isomeric ethylhexenols (up to 25%) are present in KORBS.
We are developed a scheme of integrated processing of KORBS.
The following products are isolated from fractional distillation at atmospheric or reduced pressure from КORBS:
· Light fraction;
· Main alcohol fraction;
· Cube.
1. Light fraction is a clear, light yellow liquid and contains light alcohols and acetals C4-C7. It can be used as a cetane additive for diesel fuel.
2. Alcohol fraction is a clear, almost colorless liquid with a total alcohol content of C7-C8 55-85%; it contains mainly 2-ethylhexanol (35-60%), ethylhexenol isomers (8-25%), as well as other C7-C8 alcohols in small amounts.
Alcohol fraction can be used as a cheap substitute for 2-ethylhexanol in the production of ester plasticizers PVC, including: dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP), norbornene plasticizer based on C5 fraction of liquid pyrolysis products (Patent No. 2625788), mixed plasticizer fractions of liquid pyrolysis products (Patent No. 2691739), etc.
3. Cube is a dark-brown liquid that can be used as an additive in stove or boiler fuel.
